Bar

Overview

The Bar area is a dedicated home bar space on the Ground Floor with 36 entities. It features smart accent lighting (Govee color bulbs and LED strips), a Lutron dimmer for spot lights, a TP-Link KP125M smart plug for the bar sign, Govee Bluetooth temperature/humidity sensors, and a 4-button Zigbee wall switch that controls multiple zones.

Note: Bar Shelves (KP125M) is assigned to the Living Room in HA but physically serves the Bar area. Bar Sign (KP125M) is correctly assigned to Bar.

  • Bar On — activates bar lighting preset
  • Bar Off — turns off all bar lights

4-Button Wall Switch

The Bar has a 4-button Zigbee switch that drives automations for multiple areas:

Both sensors use BLE and connect via the Realtek Bluetooth radio on the HA host.

Notes / Gotchas

  • Govee Cloud integration (govee) has a pending HACS update (v2026.6.20) requiring restart. Govee BLE sensors (govee_ble) are unaffected.
  • Bar Shelves is registered under living_room area in HA — this is a known assignment discrepancy.
  • The Govee H5075 sensors connect via Bluetooth, so they require the HA host Bluetooth radio to be active. Range can be an issue if the bar is far from the HA hardware.
  • The Bar Sign Overloaded binary sensor provides protection status from the KP125M.
